Egypt’s Ambassador to Italy Heralds Grand Egyptian Museum as a Global Milestone

Rome: Egypt's Ambassador to Italy, Bassam Rady, declared the inauguration of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) on November 1, 2025, as a global milestone, emphasizing its role as a cultural and scientific beacon that showcases the ancient Egyptian civilization's contributions to human history. Rady described the museum as a gift from Egypt to humanity, marking a significant addition to the country's archaeological, tourism, and cultural landscape.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the ambassador highlighted the museum's ability to generate widespread interest and enthusiasm across European cultural circles, particularly in Italy, due to its unique civilizational value. Rady noted the emblematic image of the sun disk with ancient Egyptian inscriptions, symbolizing prosperity, cooperation, growth, and peace-values deeply rooted in Egypt's history and upheld by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

Rady extended congratulations to the Egyptian people and the global community on the unveiling of the museum, which he described as a monumental edifice enhancing Egypt's cultural and touristic stature. He emphasized that the museum stands as a renewed message of civilization from Egypt to the world.
