Egypt’s Agricultural Exports Surge to 6.5 Million Tons in 2023

Cairo: Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Alaa Farouk announced that Egypt's agricultural exports have reached approximately 6.5 million tons this year, marking an increase of over 600,000 tons compared to the same period in 2024.According to State Information Service Egypt, this data was revealed in an official report received by the agriculture minister. The report was prepared by Mohamed el-Mansi, head of the Central Administration of Agricultural Quarantine, and it detailed key statistics regarding the country's agricultural exports up to this point in the year.The report highlighted that citrus fruits are leading Egypt's export list, with shipments exceeding 1.9 million tons. Fresh potatoes are the second most exported product, with more than 1.3 million tons. Fresh onions rank third, with about 240,000 tons exported, followed by both fresh and dry beans in fourth place, totaling over 202,000 tons.
