Egyptian Political Parties Reject Israeli Statements on Palestinian Displacement via Rafah

Cairo: Egyptian political parties voiced strong rejection on Friday of reported statements by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu suggesting the displacement of Palestinians from Gaza via the Rafah border crossing.

According to State Information Service Egypt, in separate statements, the parties affirmed support for Egypt's official stance opposing any forced displacement or attempts to undermine the Palestinian cause. They described the reported comments by Netanyahu as a violation of international law and a threat to regional stability.

The National Front Party called the remarks a 'blatant attempt' to erase Palestinian rights, warning that forced displacement would constitute a major humanitarian crime.

Al-Wafd Party official Ayman Mahsab said the statements revealed Israeli intentions to prolong the conflict through aggression and expansion, accusing Israel of pursuing policies that amount to crimes against humanity.

Other parties, including Al-Adl, Reform and Renaissance, the Egyptian Freedom Party, the Congress Party, and the Awareness Party, echoed calls for international action to prevent any forced displacement and to uphold Palestinian rights.

They expressed full support for Egypt's position that Rafah will remain a humanitarian crossing, not a channel for forced migration, and urged the UN and international community to pressure Israel to comply with international resolutions.

The political parties also reiterated support for the establishment of a Palestinian state along the 1967 borders with Al Quds (East Jerusalem) as its capital, and praised Egypt's diplomatic efforts in defending Palestinian rights.
