Derby: EgyptAir Holding Company Chairman Ahmed Adel engaged in discussions with senior officials at Rolls-Royce to explore avenues for enhancing cooperation in aircraft engine upgrade and maintenance.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the talks took place during Adel's visit to Rolls-Royce's global headquarters in Derby, UK, where he led a high-level delegation. The discussions focused on maintenance and upgrade programs for Trent 700 engines, which power 11 Airbus A330s, and Trent 1000 engines, which power 8 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners.
The delegation also toured the main factory of Rolls-Royce and its engine technology research and development centers. This visit allowed them to familiarize themselves with the advanced technology employed in these facilities.
Additionally, the two parties deliberated over the final preparations for the delivery of 16 XWB engines to EgyptAir, with the first delivery expected in December 2025. The team from Rolls-Royce presented advancements in digital transformation of engine monitoring systems, fuel efficiency improvements, and carbon emission reduction technologies.
