Egypt, Uzbekistan discuss promoting bilateral cooperation

Electricity and Renewable Energy Minister Mohamed Shaker hailed the distinguished political ties binding Egypt and Uzbekistan.

The minister’s remarks came during his meeting with Uzbek First Deputy Minister of Energy Azim Ahmed to probe ways of promoting bilateral cooperation and opening investment opportunities between the two countries in the electricity sphere.

Shaker, meanwhile, referred to the unremitting efforts of the Electricity Ministry to work on improving its services, according to a statement issued by the ministry on Sunday.

He further pointed out to the State’s strategy, which aims to increase the supply of electricity generated from renewable sources, added the statement.

For his part, the Uzbek official lauded the distinguished ties binding Egypt and Uzbekistan, underling the need of bolstering such ties in the various spheres.

The Egyptian electricity and renewable energy sector has great experience in the various domains, he said, citing the success stories of the sector in the renewable energy projects.
