Sharm el sheikh: Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli affirmed that Egypt is honored to host the General Assembly and stands ready to place all its expertise, professional capacities and pioneering experiences at the service of the international auditing community during its upcoming presidency of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI).
According to State Information Service Egypt, Madbouli's remarks were made during his speech at the 25th International Congress of Supreme Audit Institutions, inaugurated in Sharm El Sheikh under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi. The event was graced by various dignitaries, including outgoing INTOSAI President Vtor Caldeira, Secretary General Margit Kraker, newly elected INTOSAI President Mohamed el Faisal Youssef, and numerous international and regional audit leaders and representatives of global financial institutions.
Madbouli expressed his sincere wishes for the success of the conference, highlighting the mission of INTOSAI, which for over 70 years has served as a global platform for developing auditing standards, building institutional capacities, and promoting transparency and accountability worldwide. He commended the organization's contributions in shaping professional audit standards and fostering international cooperation among oversight bodies, describing INTOSAI as the 'global house of expertise' that supports governments in upholding integrity and good governance.
He emphasized that Egypt views oversight not merely as a tool to expose shortcomings, but as a constructive process that identifies challenges, proposes corrective measures, and strengthens institutional performance. Madbouli highlighted Egypt's support for its Central Auditing Organization (CAO), ensuring its full independence both constitutionally and practically, enabling it to effectively carry out its mandate.
Madbouli pointed to Egypt's model of cooperation between government performance and oversight practice, built on trust, transparency, and the open exchange of information, a partnership that has fueled national achievements over less than a decade. He stressed that such achievements were possible due to close coordination between oversight bodies and government institutions, underpinned by professionalism, responsibility, and independence.
Madbouli asserted Egypt's commitment to working with all supreme audit institutions to strengthen their capacities and adopt modern auditing methodologies, including artificial intelligence and digital transformation, to enhance accuracy, transparency, and efficiency in public auditing.
