Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, Badr Abdelatty delivered two newly published white papers to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi detailing the country's foreign policy achievements and presidential diplomacy from 2014 to 2024. These are the first white papers issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since the 1980s. According to State Information Service Egypt, the first white paper, titled "Official Foreign Visits of the President Over a Decade," documents 181 visits to 62 countries, underscoring Egypt's ambition to become a significant player in global diplomacy and a stabilizing presence in the Middle East and beyond. These visits encompassed major international summits and marked the first time an Egyptian president visited nations such as Vietnam, Armenia, and Equatorial Guinea. The second white paper, "Strategic Balance: Ten Years of Egyptian Diplomacy," elucidates the foundational principles of Egyptian foreign policy, which emphasize "strategic balance. " This framework integrates national interest, multipolar partnerships, and a rejection of zero-sum alliances. The documents highlight Egypt's unwavering support for national sovereignty, diplomacy, and conflict resolution through adherence to international law. Additionally, they focus on Egypt's proactive role in regional peace initiatives, particularly concerning the Gaza crisis and advocacy for a two-state solution. The papers also draw attention to the connection between foreign policy and domestic development objectives within the scope of Egypt's Vision 2030.
