Egypt, KSA sign MoU on boosting cooperation in fighting monopolism

Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouli witnessed Sunday at the cabinet HQ the signing of a MoU between the Egyptian Competition Authority and the Saudi General Authority for Competition on reinforcing cooperation in the field of fighting monopolism.

President of the Egyptian Competition Authority Mahmoud Momtaz, and CEO of the Saudi General Authority for Competition Abdulaziz Al-Zoom signed the MoU, with the presence of Saudi Ambassador in Cairo Osama Nugali, and other Saudi officials.

The MoU includes sharing expertise in the domain of encouraging competition and preventing monopolistic practices, as well as organizing the conferences, visits, and training sessions in this regard, Momtaz said.

For his part, Al-Zoom said the MoU would also cover sharing consultations and methods of considering complaints, among other topics.
