Cairo: Egypt's Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar inspected the $162.75 million medical warehouses project progress in the New Administrative Capital, the Cabinet stated. This initiative is a significant step in Egypt's efforts to enhance pharmaceutical security and modernize the storage and distribution network in alignment with Egypt's Vision 2030.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Abdel Ghaffar held discussions with Hisham Stait, Head of the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement, Medical Supply, and Technology Management. The discussions focused on reviewing implementation plans and addressing any obstacles faced during the project's execution. The project includes the construction of six warehouses nationwide, featuring a central hub in the New Administrative Capital and additional branches in Alexandria, Mansoura, Minya, Qena, and Ismailia.
The warehouses are designed to operate under international quality standards, including ISO 9001, 22000, GDP, and GSP. They will incorporate advanced Warehouse Management Systems and SAP Demand Planning to optimize their operations. The services provided by these facilities will encompass storage, cooling, packaging, repackaging, and pharmaceutical tracking to ensure secure and efficient supply chains.
Additionally, the Health Minister has directed a comprehensive review of existing health ministry warehouses. This review aims to integrate them within the new system, ensuring standardized operations, efficient resource utilization, and improved medical service delivery across the nation.
