Nairobi: Egypt, on Saturday evening, emphasized that its military presence in the Sinai Peninsula, which borders the Gaza Strip and Israel, is primarily intended to secure the nation's borders. This deployment is conducted in coordination with the 1979 peace treaty with Israel.
According to Nam News Network, the Egyptian State Information Service (SIS), a governmental organization, stated that the primary objective of the forces in the Sinai Peninsula is to protect Egypt's borders from various threats, including terrorism and smuggling.
