Egypt and UNESCO Discuss Cooperation on Museum Development and AI in Africa

Cairo: Culture Minister Ahmed Fouad Hannu recently held a meeting with UNESCO's regional director in Cairo to discuss future collaborations focusing on museum development, artificial intelligence, and cultural projects in Africa.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting with Nuria Sanz, UNESCO's regional director for Egypt and Sudan, also addressed plans for Egypt's upcoming Creativity and Artificial Intelligence Conference. Additional support was pledged for Egypt's delegation to the World Conference on Cultural Policies and Sustainable Development - MONDIACULT 2025 in Barcelona, slated for 29 September to 1 October 2025.

Hannu emphasized Egypt's intention to enhance partnerships with UNESCO to advance art museums, train personnel, and increase the significance of the Egyptian Academy of Arts in Rome as a cultural center. He reaffirmed Cairo's dedication to preserving African heritage and encouraging cultural exchange throughout the continent.

Sanz acknowledged the ministry's initiatives and expressed UNESCO's commitment to expanding cooperation and initiating new joint projects in the future.
