Egypt and Turkey Urge Immediate End to Israeli Conflict in Gaza

Doha: Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan have called for an immediate cessation of the Israeli conflict in the Gaza Strip. They expressed their opposition to the tactics of siege, starvation, and displacement, and highlighted the importance of ensuring unrestricted access to humanitarian aid.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the ministers underscored their support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including the establishment of an independent state along the June 4, 1967, borders, with Al Quds (East Jerusalem) as its capital. This stance was articulated during a meeting on the sidelines of a preparatory ministerial session for an emergency Arab-Islamic summit in Doha.

The discussion also covered the trajectory of Egypt-Turkey relations, noting the recent positive developments. Both ministers reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing cooperation in economic, trade, and investment sectors and to developing political consultation mechanisms to strengthen the partnership between the two nations.

Additionally, Abdelatty and Fidan showed solidarity with Qatar amid the recent Israeli actions against its sovereignty, emphasizing their support for the sisterly state.
