Egypt and Pakistan Explore Maritime Transport Collaboration

Islamabad: Egyptian Ambassador to Islamabad, Ihab Abdelhamid, and Pakistan's Minister for Maritime Affairs, Muhammad Junaid Anwar, discussed cooperation opportunities and prospects for partnership in the ports and maritime transport industries. During a meeting with the Pakistani Minister, the Egyptian diplomat touched on the significant shift in Egypt's maritime navigation and infrastructure sectors, highlighting the promising potential of the Suez Canal Economic Zone as a regional and international logistics hub, according to a statement by the foreign ministry.

According to State Information Service Egypt, he emphasized the importance of taking advantage of Egypt's strategic location as a major gateway to African and Arab markets. Meanwhile, the Pakistani official hailed bilateral relations, asserting Islamabad's interest in strengthening joint cooperation frameworks. Junaid also expressed his country's keenness to exchange visits and share technical expertise for the advancement of the ports and maritime service industries in both countries.
