Yokohama: Egypt's Education Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif and Japan's Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Toshiko Abe have signed a letter of intent to enhance educational cooperation, focusing on technical and vocational training as well as support for people with disabilities.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the agreement was formalized on the sidelines of the ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 9), taking place from August 20 to 22. This collaboration aims to build on existing partnerships and introduce new initiatives that bolster technical education and special needs education in Egypt.
Abe emphasized Japan's commitment to its current partnerships with Egypt's education ministry and Japanese companies such as Yamaha, Casio, and Sprints. She noted that these companies play a crucial role in the ongoing collaboration between the two countries. Additionally, Abe highlighted the Egyptian-Japanese Schools initiative as a successful model of international educational cooperation, which will be presented during TICAD 9 to showcase its achievements.
