Cairo: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar met with Vctor Lugo, the Colombian President's Advisor for Middle Eastern Affairs, and his delegation at the ministry's headquarters in the New Administrative Capital to discuss enhancing bilateral cooperation for providing medical aid to Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the official spokesman for the Ministry, Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, noted that the minister welcomed the Colombian delegation and commended the strong diplomatic ties between Egypt and Colombia. He emphasized both nations' commitment to strengthening cooperation in the health sector to support medical services for Palestinian patients and the injured from Gaza. This includes sending medical aid and potentially treating patients in Egyptian hospitals.
The meeting highlighted Colombia's willingness to support Egypt's efforts in delivering healthcare to Palestinian patients and injured individuals, recognizing Egypt's significant role in providing humanitarian and medical assistance to Gaza. Discussions also included ways to support Egyptian medical teams across various specialties.
The discussions further explored possibilities for enhancing cooperation between research and health institutions in both countries. This includes exchanging expertise and medical teams to meet the healthcare demands of each country's system.
