Cairo: Egypt's Agricultural Research Center (ARC) engaged in discussions with a high-level delegation from China's Northeast Institute of Geography and Agroecology to expand cooperation in the field of agricultural research, with a focus on climate-resilient crops and sustainable agriculture.According to State Information Service Egypt, the talks were led by ARC Deputy Chief Saad Moussa and covered various areas of joint research including hybrid rice, drought-tolerant crops, soil and water studies, and remote sensing technologies. The collaboration is aimed at enhancing Egypt's food security and addressing gaps in strategic crops such as rice, maize, and soybeans.The Chinese delegation, led by Dr. Ming Jiang, showed interest in formalizing the partnership through a memorandum of understanding. They also extended an invitation for ARC officials to visit China, signaling a commitment to fostering scientific cooperation between the two nations.The Egyptian representatives underscored their dedication to s trengthening scientific ties with China to bolster sustainable agricultural development.
