Sarajevo: The meeting, attended by Egypt's Ambassador to Sarajevo Walid Haggag, Assistant Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Ahmed Youssef, and Deputy Ambassador Wael Sheeha, culminated in the signing of a memorandum of understanding to expand joint tourism initiatives and increase tourist flows.According to State Information Service Egypt, Fathy emphasized Egypt's commitment to strengthening ties with Bosnia and Herzegovina, identifying tourism as a key driver of economic growth and a catalyst for cultural exchange. Opportunities for investment, joint promotional campaigns, familiarization trips, tourism caravans, and training programs were highlighted, alongside the exchange of expertise in marketing and human capital development.He also detailed the ministry's promotional strategy and its international campaign "Egypt. A Unique Diversity," which utilized modern tools such as artificial intelligence. He noted the sector's impressive performance in 2024 and significant growth in early 2025.Kosarac exp ressed interest in bolstering tourism ties, emphasizing Bosnia and Herzegovina's tourist attractions and its upcoming participation in Expo 2027 in Belgrade. He welcomed Egypt's planned temporary antiquities exhibition during the event, calling it a significant promotional opportunity, and invited Egypt to participate in the 2026 Sarajevo Film Festival, an invitation Fathy accepted.The discussions also covered bilateral cooperation in tourism and hospitality training. Ambassador Haggag described the memorandum as a significant advance in bilateral relations, which are gaining momentum on all levels. At the conclusion of the meeting, Fathy invited Kosarac to visit Egypt, an invitation warmly received by the Bosnian side.
