Distinguished Egyptian Participation in the Brussels International Bus Show

Brussels: Egyptian companies successfully signed contracts to export electric buses to Belgium, Luxembourg, Austria, and England, using Egyptian designs and components. As part of efforts to support national industry and open new markets for Egyptian exports, seven major Egyptian bus and automotive component manufacturing companies participated in the Brussels International Bus Show, held in the Belgian capital, Brussels, from October 4 to 9.

According to State Information Service Egypt, this exhibition is the largest international exhibition for buses and components. Minister Plenipotentiary for Trade Nasser Hamed, Head of the Egyptian Commercial Office in Brussels, and Second Commercial Secretary Moataz Allah Ibrahim participated in the exhibition's activities. They also participated in the press conference for MCV and Geyushi Transportation Manufacturing Company, which witnessed the launch of the first Egyptian green hydrogen-powered bus, produced by the Egyptian company MCV, as well as a number of electric buses produced by the same company.

The press conference also featured the launch of several electric buses produced by Geyushi. Minister Plenipotentiary for Trade Nasser Hamed delivered a speech at the press conference to launch these buses. He highlighted the major successes achieved by Egyptian industry, which have made Egypt a reliable partner for the European Union, capable of meeting the European market's needs for advanced, high-quality goods and products.

He also noted that the global challenges related to supply chains make Egypt an appropriate location, geographically close to the European Union, capable of meeting its needs and localizing European industry in Egypt. His Excellency praised the quality of Egyptian companies' products, their ability to compete in the European market, and their compliance with environmental sustainability standards.

The press conference for the Egyptian company MCV addressed the company's significant successes, such as the company's manufacturing of buses for Volvo, destined for Belgium and Luxembourg, as well as its collaboration with several other European companies. The company also announced the launch of its new green hydrogen bus for European markets and an agreement to export 37 green hydrogen buses to Austria.

The press conference for Geyushi also addressed the company's bus models for European markets, which are designed for sustainable, zero-emission transportation to keep pace with global trends, as well as the company's export contracts to several European, Arab, and African countries.

Separately, Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid, Egypt's Ambassador to Brussels, and Minister Plenipotentiary for Trade Nasser Hamed inspected the pavilions of the Egyptian exhibitors and met with representatives from the participating companies. They discussed the most prominent successes of Egyptian companies, their export capabilities to the European market, the challenges they face, and their most important demands from the Egyptian government.

Minister Plenipotentiary for Trade Nasser Hamed emphasized the Commercial Office's commitment to support exhibiting Egyptian companies and strengthen their presence in the Belgian, Luxembourg, and European markets by promoting their advanced products and pursuing cooperation opportunities with international partners. The office promoted the participation of seven Egyptian companies and disseminated their data and products to European companies importing buses, transportation vehicles, and automotive components, as well as companies operating in the field of urban and tourist transportation.

The office also worked on eliminating obstacles that hinder Egyptian companies' participation in the exhibition. Nasser Hamed also emphasized that the export of Egyptian electric buses powered by green hydrogen to Belgium, Luxembourg, Austria, England, and other European, Arab, and Asian countries is an indicator of the success of Egyptian industry and its ability to compete globally. He also emphasized the potential for cooperation with the European Union in this regard.

He added that the local component ratio reaching 55 to 70 percent is evidence of the development of Egyptian industry and the success of efforts to deepen this industry. Furthermore, the buses launched during the exhibition were entirely Egyptian-designed, and Egyptian companies have become partners with major international companies and produce on their behalf.

The Egyptian government is keen to support Egyptian companies to increase their exports to European and international markets. Seven Egyptian companies specialized in the manufacture of buses and their components participated in the exhibition. These companies are MCV, Geyushi Transportation, and Auto Cool, which design and manufacture heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems for buses. Trust, which produces car seats, and El-TeriaK, which specializes in the manufacture of electric bus batteries and associated cooling systems.

Alu Africa, an aluminum and alloy manufacturer that supplies frames, lightweight structural parts, and supporting components for the bus industry, is also present. Finally, Rock Steel, which manufactures chassis and metal structures for buses using aluminum and steel.
