California: Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat met with CEOs of global technology companies in California, USA, to discuss cooperation in electronics design and manufacturing, as well as Artificial Intelligence (AI).
According to State Information Service Egypt, Talaat met with Wei Xiao, Director of Developer Relations for the Middle East and Africa at NVIDIA. The discussions focused on NVIDIA's technological solutions and initiatives aimed at building AI capabilities, along with projects in the Middle East and Africa. The minister emphasized Egypt's initiatives to adopt AI technologies and train specialists for digital transformation.
Talaat also met with Sanjay Gajendra, President and Chief Operating Officer of Astera Labs, to explore collaboration opportunities and the potential to leverage Egyptian expertise. Furthermore, discussions with Stephen Ozoigbo, Head of Government Partnerships and Ecosystems at Arm, centered on investment opportunities within Egypt's electronics sector.
The minister's four-day visit to the US included participation in the Global Semiconductor Alliance (GSA) Forum. This presented an opportunity to exchange expertise and explore new areas for cooperation in semiconductor manufacturing. Talaat's itinerary also featured bilateral meetings in New York and California with American and international companies, focusing on expanding collaboration and investment in Egypt's ICT sector.
