Egypt must be linking point between Japan, Africa: Higher education min.

Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Khaled Abdel Ghaffar asserted the need to make the best use of Japanese technologies in the curricula to be taught at new technological universities that will receive their first generation students in September 2022.

 

Abdel Ghaffar made the remarks during a meeting with Japan’s new Ambassador in Cairo Oka Hiroshi at the ministry’s premises on Monday where he congratulated the Japanese diplomat on assuming office.

 

Commending the fruitful cooperation between Egypt and Japan at various levels, the minister said he looks forward to further higher education and scientific research cooperation for better quality of education and scientific research in Egypt.

 

He also stressed that Egypt must be the linking point between Japan and Africa.

 

Abdel Ghaffar also reviewed aspects of mutual cooperation of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in many higher education projects, topped by Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology (E-JUST) and Egypt-Japan Education Partnership (EJEP).

 

He also applauded the Japanese government’s support to Egypt in the healthcare sector, including a $19 million grant to build outpatient clinics building affiliated to Abu El Reesh Children’s Hospital.

 

Meanwhile, the ambassador said that Japan looks forward to maintaining its constructive cooperation with Egypt whose higher education system has been seeing a remarkable development recently.

 

He also emphasized Japan’s commitment to support Egypt’s anti-coronavirus efforts.

President Sisi holds dialogue with faculty, student ambassadors of Kafr Al Sheikh University

President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi met on Tuesday 14/12/2021 with the faculty and student ambassadors of Kafr Al Sheikh University holding a dialogue with them while having breakfast.

 

The president affirmed the state’s keenness on enhancing the quality of education at public universities in parallel with introducing new ones nationwide. That is to supply qualified laborers whose skills match the market needs now and in the future, ensuring sustainable and comprehensive development is achieved.

 

The president further reiterated the importance of gaining awareness on contemporary variables and challenges internally and externally on the regional and international scales in addition to the care they give to their academic performance.

 

Minister of High Education Khaled Abdel Ghaffar stated during the meeting that 12,000 students graduate from Kafr El Sheikh University annually, and that it has 11,000 graduate students.

 

The minister highlighted that the establishment has been among public universities where the most modern fields have been introduced as it now includes School of Artificial Intelligence, School of Nanotechnology, School of Sciences and Fish Farming.

 

Abdel Ghaffar noted that Kafr El Sheikh University’s Medical School encompasses 400 beds, and 13 operation theaters. That is in addition to the under-progress emergency hospital having 650 beds, and which has been completed by 50 percent. Also, 60 percent of a cancer hospital has been accomplished as it is expected to be finished within six months.

 

The president also attended a concert held by the university’s School of Musical Education.

Egypt, UAE sign cooperation deal in higher education, scientific research

Higher Education Minister Dr Khaled Abdel Ghaffar received Thursday UAE Minister of Education Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, where they signed a cooperation deal in the field of higher education and scientific research.

 

The deal was signed on the sidelines of the second edition of the Global Forum for Higher Education and Scientific Research (GFHS), held in the New Administrative Capital on December 8-10, under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.

 

This agreement culminates the distinguished Egyptian-UAE ties, Abdel Ghaffar said, adding it would reinforce cooperation between the two countries in the field of higher education, sharing expertise, and scholarships, among several other activities.

 

For his side, Al Hammadi praised the deal as an investment in human resources in both countries, in addition to its role in cementing ties, which should encourage innovation and serve the modern industrial economy.

Egypt’s amb. partakes in inking ceremony of 1st British-Finnish school in Egypt

Egypt’s Ambassador in Helsinki Haitham Salah participated on Saturday 27/11/2021 in the signing ceremony of the launch of the first international British-Finnish school in Egypt, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

Ambassador of Education at Finland’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Marjaana Sall delivered a speech during the ceremony, hailing the cooperation between Egypt and Finland, especially in the education and vocational education domains.

The Foreign Ministry mentioned that six Finnish schools would be opened in Egypt.

Military production min. inspects factories of Hyundai Wia & Hanwha

Minister of State for Military Production Mohamed Ahmed Morsi has inspected a number of factories of the South Korean companies “Hyundai Wia” and “Hanwha” to stand on their industrial, technological, technical and human potentials.

 

This came on the sidelines of his current visit to South Korea to participate in “Seoul ADEX 2021”.

 

The minister visited the companies’ factories for manufacturing K9 Thunder (a 155mm / 52 caliber self-propelled howitzer) and K2 Black Panther (one of the most advanced main battle tank in the world).

 

He also watched the dry firing of a Howitzer and inspected its production phases.

 

The Seoul International Aerospace and Defense Exhibition 2021 (ADEX 2021), held at Seoul Airport, kicked off on Tuesday, October 19.

 

During the exhibition, Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) unveiled several exciting new products; including KF-21 Boramae (a 4.5 generation fighter aircraft) and MAH Amphibious Assault Helicopter.

Sisi issues decree on statute of Electronics Research Institute

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has issued a decree on the executive regulations of the Electronics Research Institute.

 

Under the decree no. 408 of 2021, the law and statute on the regulation of universities shall be applied to research personnel of the institute, while the Civil Service Law shall be applied to other personnel.

 

The decree was published in the official gazette.

Egypt set to launch mobile application to promote tourist destinations

Egypt is set to launch a mobile application to promote the country’s tourist destinations at local and international levels.

 

Tourism and Antiquities Minister Khaled al-Anani held a meeting Thursday to follow up on the progress in developing the application.

 

The designs of the first stage of the application were reviewed at the meeting.

 

The application aims to brief the Egyptian and foreign tourists on the different tourist attractions in the country, including the cultural, artistic and maritime activities and products.

 

It will help tourists organize their trips in Egypt so that they can have a unique tourist experience.

 

It will also allow e-booking of tickets of some museums and archaeological areas in the first stage.
