Cairo, Berlin Discuss Peace Plan Implementation and Gaza Recovery Summit

Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates, Dr. Badr Abdelatty, received a phone call from German Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development, Reem Alabali-Radon. The Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Tamim Khalaf, stated that Minister Abdelatty commended the bilateral relations between Egypt and Germany across various fields. He praised Germany's role in supporting development projects in Egypt and expressed his aspiration to strengthen the partnership in multiple areas, including energy, organized migration, labor mobility, vocational training, and cooperation in Africa, as well as economic, trade, and investment fields.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Minister Abdelatty highlighted Egypt's recent economic reforms aimed at improving the business climate and attracting foreign investments. He expressed hope for governmental negotiations between the two countries on development cooperation. The importance of debt swap agreements between Egypt and Germany was outlined by Minister Abdelatty, noting their significant contribution to supporting Egypt's national development efforts. He also appreciated Germany's support for Egypt within the European Union, referring to the outcomes of the Egypt-EU Summit held on October 22 in Brussels.

The discussions also covered the preparations for Egypt's hosting of the International Conference on Early Recovery and Reconstruction in November. Minister Abdelatty explained that the conference will be a crucial step toward unifying international efforts to support the Palestinian people, address their urgent needs, and contribute to reconstruction in accordance with the Arab-Islamic plan and the U.S. President Donald Trump's Peace Plan for the Middle East. Minister Abdelatty expressed Egypt's aspiration for active German participation in the conference as a co-host alongside regional and international partners, with the aim of ending the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip. He emphasized the necessity for the international community to assume its humanitarian and moral responsibilities to end the suffering of the Palestinian people.
