Bulgarian President’s GEM Attendance Highlights Egypt’s Prominent Standing in Bulgaria

Cairo: Egypt's Ambassador to Bulgaria, Nader Saad, affirmed that Bulgarian President Rumen Radev's participation in the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) opening ceremony, held in response to an invitation from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, reflects the prominent position Egypt enjoys in the Balkan nation. According to State Information Service Egypt, Saad stated that Bulgaria is keen to participate in this global event at the highest level of representation-the President of the Republic-which signifies its deep appreciation for Egypt's leadership, government, and people, and its recognition of Egypt's civilization. Saad highlighted that the GEM opening ceremony has garnered significant attention at both the official and popular levels in Bulgaria. He noted that Bulgarian state television hosted him in a special interview where he provided extensive coverage of the opening preparations, indicating global interest in this historic event. He further emphasized that relations between Egypt and Bulgaria have seen a renewed push during President Sisi's era, with Bulgaria valuing Egypt's efforts in supporting peace, stability, and development globally. The Ambassador concluded by noting that the Bulgarian President's participation in Egypt's GEM celebration coincides with the upcoming centennial celebration of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries early next year.
