Abu dhabi: Haddad El-Gohary, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for consular affairs and Egyptian expatriates, affirmed that the State spares no effort in providing the opportunity for all its citizens abroad to exercise their constitutional rights and participate in all electoral entitlements. This statement was made during El-Gohary's meeting with prominent figures and members of the Egyptian community in Abu Dhabi, held at the Egyptian Embassy in the United Arab Emirates. The meeting also saw participation from Essam Ashour, Egypt's Ambassador to the UAE, and other embassy members.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting is part of the directives from the Minister of Foreign Affairs to engage with various Egyptian communities. The Assistant Minister encouraged community members to participate in the upcoming House of Representatives elections and highlighted the Ministry's dedication to bolstering the fraternal relations between Egypt and the UAE.
El-Gohary emphasized the Foreign Ministry's commitment to caring for Egyptian citizens abroad, prioritizing the enhancement of service efficiency. He highlighted the current focus on developing consular work mechanisms and transitioning to mechanized transactions to better serve Egyptian citizens abroad. Additionally, he mentioned the electronic system used for setting appointments for issuing passports and birth certificates.
The meeting also addressed several issues concerning the Egyptian community, with El-Gohary listening to practical proposals related to their care and attention in the UAE. He commended the positive interaction of the Egyptian community abroad, viewing it as a fundamental element of consular development in coordination with relevant authorities in Egypt.
