Arab-OIC Committee Foreign Ministers Reject Israeli Statements on Palestinian Displacement

Cairo: The Foreign Ministers of the Arab-OIC Committee on Gaza have issued a joint statement firmly rejecting any statements made by Israel concerning the displacement of Palestinians from the territories occupied since 1967. The ministers assert that such actions cannot be justified under any pretext.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the committee condemns Israel's policies that involve uprooting Palestinians from their land through military operations in Gaza, utilizing siege and starvation tactics, targeting civilians and infrastructure, and extending the conflict, which poses a threat to both regional and international peace and security.

The statement reiterates condemnation of Israel's actions in the West Bank, including settlement expansion, settler violence, home demolitions, and land confiscation. The ministers emphasize the need to halt Israel's violations of international humanitarian law and call for accountability for actions that could be considered ethnic cleansing and genocide.

The Foreign Ministers call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, the lifting of restrictions on humanitarian access, and international support for the return of the legitimate Palestinian Authority to Gaza. They stress the importance of empowering Palestinians in their state-building efforts.

The ministers highlight that Israel's practices are a threat to international law and the principles of the United Nations Charter. They urge the international community, particularly the United Nations Security Council, to protect the rights of Palestinians to remain in Gaza and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and to end the Israeli occupation.

The statement concludes by emphasizing that the establishment of a Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital is the only viable solution, aligning with the right to self-determination and international resolutions. The ministers reaffirm their commitment to the realization of an independent State of Palestine.
