Arab Nations Lead in Egypt’s Food Exports for First Half of 2025

Cairo: Arab nations emerged as the largest importers of Egyptian food products in the first half of 2025, contributing $1.89 billion or 47 percent of the total food exports from Egypt. This occurred despite a slight three percent decline in the value of exports, as reported by the Food Export Council (FEC) on Sunday.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the European Union was the second-largest market for Egyptian food exports, with imports valued at $870 million. Non-Arab African countries imported $298 million worth of food products, while the United States accounted for $274 million. Other international markets contributed a total of $694 million to Egypt's food export revenue.

Saudi Arabia topped the list of individual countries importing Egyptian food products, with imports worth $303 million. The United States followed with $274 million, while Sudan imported $198 million worth of food products. Libya and Jordan were also significant importers, with $181 million and $160 million in imports, respectively.
