Cairo: Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Ahmed el Tayeb affirmed deep relations with Oman, offering more scholarships and imam training at Al-Azhar. This came during his meeting on Thursday, May 14, 2026, with the Secretary General of Fatwa in Oman Ahmed bin Saud Al Siyabi and Omani Ambassador in Cairo Abdullah bin Nasser Al Rahbi to discuss cooperation.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Siyabi praised Al-Azhar's moderate message and thanked El-Tayeb for his support, seeking to strengthen scientific and preaching ties with the institution.
