AI helps Chinese job seekers secure employment during spring recruitment season

BEIJING: The spring recruitment season in China, known as ‘gold March and silver April’, is in full swing. Artificial intelligence (AI) is helping young jobseekers improve their chances of securing employment by optimizing resumes and providing mock job interviews.

As per the findings from the recruitment platform Zhaopin, employers are actively pursuing individuals with expertise in logistics, hotel management, new energy research, and modern manufacturing. Notwithstanding the burgeoning population of college graduates, which reached 11.79 million this year, the stabilized job market owes much to the improving economic conditions and supportive government policies, as highlighted in a report by China Daily.

Universities and recruitment platforms are offering AI technology to help graduates polish their resumes and prepare for interviews. Zhejiang Financial College, for example, provides students with AI-generated standardized resumes and virtual mock interviews.

Zhaopin’s vice-president, Li Qiang, stated
that AI technology can help job applicants find suitable matches by analysing data accurately and removing redundant information from resumes. Since introducing AI services in January, over 400,000 young jobseekers have utilized Zhaopin’s platform.

As the spring recruitment season continues, AI is proving to be a valuable tool for both jobseekers and employers in China’s competitive job market.
