City win Premier League

ABU DHABI, 20th May, 2023 (WAM) — Manchester City are the Premier League champions for the third year in a row. Pep Guardiola’s team have won the title, this time with three matches to spare after second-placed Arsenal lost 1-0 away at Nottingham Forest. It’s the fifth time in six seasons City have won the Premier League and represents the 12th major honour of Pep Guardiola’s time in charge of the Club. That match will be followed by a UEFA Champions League final against Inter on June 10, the second time in three seasons City have appeared in the final of Europe’s elite knock-out competition. In 35 matches so far this season, City have won 27 and scored 92 goals, collecting 85 points. City are only the fifth club in the history of English football to win three top-flight titles in a row after Huddersfield Town (1924-1926), Arsenal (1933-1935), Liverpool (1982-1984) and Manchester United (1999-2001 and 2007-2009), according City’s website. City will now start the 2023/24 campaign with the tantalising prospect of becoming the first in history to win the English top-flight four years in succession. Hatem Mohamed

Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed to begin official visit to Malaysia on Sunday

Abu Dhabi, 20th May 2023 (WAM) — His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, is to begin an official visit to Malaysia on Sunday to discuss opportunities for mutual cooperation that will benefit both countries and their people. Al-Jarwan attends annual meeting of Russia-Islamic World Strategic Vision Group

KZAZAN, 20th May 2023 (WAM) — Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Jarwan, President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, emphasised the importance of global cooperation in promoting a culture of tolerance and peace. Al Jarwan made the statements as he addressed the annual meeting of the Russia-Islamic World Strategic Vision Group, which was held in Kazan, the capital of the Russian Republic of Tatarstan, in the presence of Rustam Minnikhanov, Head of the Republic of Tatarstan, Chairman of the Russia-Islamic World Strategic Vision Group, representatives from over 46 Islamic countries, delegations of global religious, and cultural organisations Al-Jarwan underscored the great importance attached by the Council to promoting the values of tolerance, peaceful co-existence and love, and underpinning the spiritual and human principles of revealed religions. He advocated for the launch of a group of religious experts whose duty it is to propagate human values, emphasising the Council’s willingness to work collaboratively with everyone to establish peace and sustainable development. Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed inaugurates SeaWorld Yas Island

ABU DHABI, 20th May, 2023 (WAM) H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, today inaugurated SeaWorld, Abu Dhabi – the newest theme park on Yas Island, which was developed by Miral in partnership with SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment. H.H. Sheikh Khaled toured the attraction and was briefed on its facilities, which span 183,000 sqm, offering entertainment and education themed around marine life to visitors, and further strengthening Abu Dhabi’s position as a tourism hub. Sheikh Khaled also visited the Yas SeaWorld Research and Rescue the first integrated research, rescue, rehabilitation, return and education center in the MENA region. Sheikh Khaled reviewed the centre’s programmes, which are working to conserve the Arabian Gulf’s marine wildlife, habitats and ecosystems while educating and inspiring a new generation of marine enthusiasts. He was accompanied by Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Department of Culture and Tourism Abu Dhabi and Chairman of Miral; and Mohamed Abdalla Al Zaabi, Group CEO of Miral. As well as offering entertainment, education, and family-friendly experiences, including up-close animal encounters and animal presentations, SeaWorld Abu Dhabi is home to rides and attractions, as well as dining and shopping destinations.
