In cooperation with Accreditation Canada International, a training Program for GAHAR surveyors aiming at pushing forward the Universal Health Insurance System in Egypt.

The Chairman of GAHAR, Prof. Ahmed Taha: Alignment with the International Healthcare Quality Standards, and a unified application of the standards is a main objective of GAHAR toward pushing forward the Universal Health Insurance System.

The Chairman of GAHAR, Prof. Ahmed Taha, stressed on the importance of sharing knowledge and expertise with the International counterparts to ensure the alignment with the international quality levels. He also welcomed the first fruits of cooperation with Accreditation Canada International, ACI, as one of the leading international accrediting organizations in healthcare quality; this is within the framework of GAHAR’s keenness on internationally accrediting its surveyors from the International Society for Quality, in Healthcare (ISQua), as part of sustaining the capacity building efforts of GAHAR.

This was mentioned in his opening speech to the condensed training program ceremony organized by GAHAR in cooperation with Accreditation Canada International (ACI), and the Health Standards Organization (HSO), for GAHAR’s surveyors; within the framework of the World Bank funding project to the Universal Health Insurance System (UHI).

The Chairman of GAHAR clarified that this 5-days training program held in Cairo, aims at ensuring the unified interpretation of the standards not only amongst GAHAR’s surveyors, but amongst the departments responsible of the technical support for the healthcare facilities including the provision of Self-Assessment Tools and overcoming the challenges to ensure their readiness for the UHI system, as well as the department responsible of monitoring the continuous compliance with the healthcare quality practices after registration and accreditation.

The Program includes a theoretical part about the assessment process and a practical part; in cooperation with the International Medical Center and the Saudi German Hospital, as one of the accredited stakeholders by GAHAR.

The program has 50 participants of GAHAR surveyors who are assigned for the survey process to the healthcare facilities according to GAHAR Standards, in addition to GAHAR’s departmental Heads of Technical Support for Healthcare Facilities (SAP) department; Registration and Accreditation of Healthcare Facilities and Healthcare Professionals Department; the Central Department of Health Control; and Representatives of the Egyptian Healthcare Authority (EHA).

This specialized training program is designed to include the most important technical and practical skills required for the healthcare facilities survey process including; Standards Structure and interpretation, survey schedules and preparations, survey scoring software, Accreditation Decision Rules, Communication skills amongst the survey team, mapping out the tracer, the Focus priority areas, in addition to the remarkable on-site challenges faced by the surveyors and solutions, and the pre and post-test of the survey process.

Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli opened on Wednesday 22/2/2023 the Sports Expo Egypt 2023 that is being held from Feb. 22 to Feb. 24 at Al Manara International Convention Center (MICC).

Minister of Sports and Youth Ashraf Sobhy, along with a number of ministers, sport experts, specialists, academia, as well as investors interested in investing in the public and private sectors in Egypt, the Middle East and Africa, have taken part in the inauguration ceremony of Egypt’s groundbreaking sport event.

The three-day gathering is being held under the sponsorship of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on the sidelines of the “Break your Record” initiative.

The exhibition is expected to be the largest annual sports fair and conference in the Middle East, aiming to propel the sports industry in the Middle East to unprecedented heights, with a wide array of immersive activations that will re-establish the value of practicing sports, as well as its importance for physical and psychological wellbeing in Arab minds.

Sports Expo Exhibition 2023 will host a plethora of key players in the sports industry, creating an unparalleled opportunity for sports companies and establishments to form trade and investment agreements and get acquainted with the latest international trends and innovations in sports technology.

The exhibition will also introduce international products, making their debut in the region, in addition to exclusive offers on sports equipment for professional athletes and sports enthusiasts across the spectrum of age groups, lifestyles, and abilities.

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah made history on Tuesday 21/2/2023, when he became the club’s all-time top goal scorer in European competitions.

The Egyptian forward was on hand to score for the Anfield side in the first leg of their Champions League Last 16 clash with Real Madrid. Taking his tally for the season to 19 goals and eight assists in 34 games across all competitions.

The goal now means that Salah has bagged 42 goals across all European competitions for the Premier League giants.

A remarkable record considering it has come in just 66 games for Liverpool, but even more so because it means the forward has now surpassed the previously held record by former club captain Steven Gerrard.

The previous record stood at 41 goals in 130 games for the former England international, meaning Salah has matched and beaten Gerrard’s record in almost half as many.

Sun illuminated on Wednesday 22/2/2023 the face of Ramses II statue in the Abu Simple temple in south Aswan for nearly 21 minutes in a rare phenomenon that takes place twice a year.

Aswan Governor Ashraf Attia and Deputy Tourism and Antiquities Minister Ghada Shalabi, as well as leaderships at the Tourism and Antiquities Ministry and Aswan governorate witnessed this unique phenomenon.Also, more than 6,200 tourists, both foreign and Egyptian, gathered at Abu Simbel temple to watch the alignment of the sun on King Ramses II’s face.

The phenomenon started at 6:21 am and continued for nearly 21 minutes, said Director General of Aswan and Nubia Antiquities Abdel Moneim Saeed.

Widely regarded as a feat of pharaonic engineering, the biannual solar alignment sees the sun passing over the face of the statue of Rameses II at Abu Simbel, once on February 22 and again on October 22.

King Ramses II is known as Ramses the Great, the third pharaoh of the 19th Dynasty of Egypt, who led many military campaigns in the Levant. At the age of 14, Ramses II took over the reins of power from his father Seti I.

Agriculture and Land Reclamation Minister El Sayed El Quseir said that Egyptian-Uzbek relations had witnessed great developments during President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s era especially after his visit to Uzbekistan in 2018.

This came during Quseir’s meeting with his Uzbek counterpart Aziz Voitov in which they discussed means of fostering bilateral relations in agriculture research fields, enhancing agriculture products trade and using modern agriculture technologies as well as boosting cooperation in livestock and fish.

The meeting comes on the sidelines of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s current visit to Egypt in which he met with President Sisi.

Voitov hailed the deep-rooted relations with Egypt, noting that Sisi’s visit to Uzbekistan was a turning point in the Egyptian-Uzbek relations. He also hailed the developments witnessed in agriculture sector in Egypt that achieved food security.

The ministers also agreed on activating a memorandum of understanding and enhancing the role of the joint technical committee to develop cooperation.

Quseir also accepted Voitov’s invitation to attend the agriculture forum to be held in Uzbekistan within efforts to enhance cooperation.

Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources Hani Sewilam affirmed Tuesday the depth of strategic relatiins binding Egypt and Kenya in various fields, along with Egypt’s continued keenness on boosting bilateral cooperation within the framework of promoting ties with Nile Basin countries to realize common interests for the benefit of all sides.

The minister had a meeting with Kenyan Minister of Water, Sanitation and Irrigation Alice Muthoni Wahome as Egypt’s ambassador to Kenya Wael Attia, a number of representatives of the Egyptian embassy in Nairobi and Nairobian higherups took part in it to tackle cooperation aspects covering all water-related domains.

The two sides discussed boosting bilateral cooperation in the water and irrigation spheres.

The Egyptian minister of water resources said he is looking forward to boosting cooperation with the Kenyan side in areas pertaining to realizing sustainable development and water resources management.

He spotlighted the fruitful historical cooperation between the two countries that has set an exemplary model.

Meantime, the minster highlighted a number of memorandums of understanding signed between the two countries in the water resources development spheres, underlining keenness on activating cooperation in climate adaptation fields, together with carrying out a number of water-related ventures, as part of projects proposed by the United Nations Climate Change Conference (UNCCC) COP27, held in the Red Sea resort city of Sharm el-Sheikh in November 2022.

The minister said Egypt will work, in its capacity as the upcoming chairman of the African Ministers’ Council on Water (AMCOW) 2023-2024 session, to foster cooperation among African countries to face up to all water challenges.
