The World Youth Forum (WYF) held its first panel discussion session entitled “The Role of the International Community in Providing Relief to Countries and Refugees in Host Countries”, in order to enhance regional and international co-operation and expand the scope of support for the groups and countries most affected by the challenges in the world.
The session, held on Tuesday 14/3/2023, discussed many issues, including the repercussions of the growing flow of refugees on the conditions of refugees in host and border societies and the role of actors from international governmental and non-governmental organisations in dealing with refugee crises.
The session also addressed the impact of global economic conditions on the ability of states to contain refugees and provide them with the necessary care.
It also reviewed the growing challenges, which hinder international organizations’ ability to deliver humanitarian aid and support the neediest groups.
The WYF held several workshops over a week, during which the participants discussed “mechanisms to support refugees and migrants and ways to integrate them into the societies in which they live as well as the role of international organisations in supporting the host countries”.
Since the launch of the forum in its first edition in 2017, and throughout the previous four editions, the forum aims to send a message of peace and prosperity from Egypt to the world, through discussing global issues, proposing recommendations, and implementing several initiatives and projects on the ground.
The United Nations Committee for Social Development adopted Egypt’s World Youth Forum as an international platform for discussing youth issues.
