World Book Day fosters friendships across cultures and continents: Bodour Al Qasimi


SHARJAH: Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, the Chairperson of the Sharjah Book Authority (SBA), stated that “World Book Day” is not only a celebration of literature but also a powerful call to action. It reminds us of the profound impact books have in fostering friendships across cultures and continents and promoting empathy and understanding between distant peoples.

In a statement on World Book Day, Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi said, ‘Today, I am particularly grateful for the exceptional leadership of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. His unwavering commitment to prioritize books, reading, and culture as pillars of our development strategy has inspired many and contributed significantly to the progress of our nation.’

‘Embracing books opens doors to curiosity, experimentation, and the limitless potential of new ideas- an important prerequisite for the progress of any society. This thirst for knowledge drives global progress, making World Book Day a
perfect occasion to celebrate the central role that books play in this journey,” she added.
