Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhi has greeted Egyptian girls on the International Day of the Girl Child, which falls on October 11.
In a statement released on Tuesday11/10/2022, the minister asserted that the Egyptian State attaches big importance to women and girls, noting that the programs and initiatives focusing on females receive great attention and support from President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and his spouse.
Sobhi urged all girls to take part in activities and services provided by the sports ministry to advance their empowerment and help them reach their potential.
The day focuses attention on the need to address the challenges girls face and to promote girls’ empowerment and the fulfilment of their rights. The theme of International Day of the Girl Child this year is: “Our time is now—our rights, our future.”
