President El-Sisi Reviews Development Plans for El-Galala City Projects

Cairo: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi convened a meeting on Sunday, April 26, 2026, with key figures including Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production, Lieutenant General Ashraf Salem Zaher, and several of his advisors to discuss the ongoing and future projects in El-Galala City. This meeting aimed to evaluate the progress and strategic planning necessary for the city's development as a prime location on Egypt's Red Sea coast.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the Spokesman for the Presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, highlighted that the meeting focused on a comprehensive development plan for Galala City, which is to be implemented over the next four years. President El-Sisi underscored the importance of adhering to international standards and timelines to achieve the state's vision of establishing a global economic system in the region. This initiative is expected to bolster investment, tourism, and job creation, which are crucial for the area's overall development.

Additionally, the meeting addressed the second phase of the IL Monte Galala project, with President El-Sisi giving his approval for the project's concept and its execution in collaboration with the private sector. He provided directives to alter the Ain Sokhna/Zaafarana road to enhance traffic safety and proposed the construction of tourist residential towers and a service marina along the Red Sea coast. The plan also includes the development of hotels with diverse facilities and floating docks to attract global businesses, aiming to transform the region into an international trade hub.

Furthermore, President El-Sisi emphasized the necessity of establishing a comprehensive residential area for workers in the city. This would encompass housing, schools, and essential services to support the workforce and ensure sustainable development in the region.
