PM, Danish counterpart hold expanded session of talks in Cairo

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli and Danish counterpart Mette Frederiksen co-chaired here on Monday an expanded session of talks to discuss a wide range of joint cooperation files.

Welcoming the Danish premier and her accompanying delegation, whose current visit to Cairo coincides with the 65th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Egypt and Denmark, Madbouli emphasized the need to push economic cooperation forward, especially for serving energy transition goals.

He said expanding the scale of renewable energy and green hydrogen projects is a top priority for the government, noting that cooperation may also be extended to include strategic domains, such as the pharmaceutical industry.

Madbouli also hailed ongoing cooperation for improving energy efficiency.

He said the term a sectoral partnership agreement between Egypt and Denmark had been extended to 2025 to support their efforts for generating clean energy, consolidating the underpinnings of green economy, and achieve sustainable development.
