Israeli forces detain nine Palestinians in West Bank, two in Jerusalem area

Israeli forces overnight and today detained at least nine Palestinians from multiple West Bank districts, in addition to two youths in occupied Jerusalem, according to sources. Security sources told WAFA Israeli army last night detained a Palestinian youth as he attempted to cross Dutan military checkpoint to the southwest of Jenin. Forces detained three other youths from the Jenin area and handed three more notices to appear before the Israeli intelligence at Salem military camp. Three Palestinians were also detained by the Israeli army after raiding and tampering with the contents of their homes in Hebron city, said security and local sources. Security sources said Israeli forces at dawn today raided Beitunia town to the west of Ramallah and detained a 26-year-old youth after raiding and searching his house. A fifty-three-year-old freed prisoner who spent 17 years in Israeli jails was also detained in Tammun town, south of Tubas, said head of the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society in Tubas (PPS), Kamal Bani Odeh. In the Jerusalem area, Israeli forces detained a Palestinian in Bab Hatta neighborhood in the Old City, and a 23-year-old youth after raiding and searching his family home in the village of Beit Surik, northwest of Jerusalem, said local sources.
