Irrigation Ministry holds training courses for Egyptians, Arabs, Africans in water domain

Minister of Irrigation Mohamed Abdel Aati said the ministry is organizing training sessions for Egyptians, Arabs, Africans in water domain.

The training sessions are held by the ministry’s Regional Training Center in the 6th of October City and the Regional Training Center (HRI- RTC) of the Hydraulics Research Institute (HRI) affiliated to National Water Research Center, he said, highlighting the ministry’s outstanding training capabilities.

This came during Abdel Aati’s meeting with Undersecretary of Irrigation Ministry Ragab Abdel Azeem and Head of National Water Research Center Khaled Abdel-Hay to review training activities presented by the ministry to trainees from the Arab and African countries.

The main goal of the training courses is to support the human capabilities of the employees in the Arab and African countries to help improve management of water resources and exchange expertise and thoughts among trainees from different countries.

There are scholarships for PhD and masters degrees for African students, Abdel Aati said.

The regional training center has distinguished training capabilities, he said, adding that 21 training courses have been held for African trainees since 2016 with the presence of 374 trainees.

Also, 20 training courses were held for Arab trainees with the presence of 323 trainees in the fields of managing water resources, irrigation, environment and adapting to the climate changes.
