Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Ayman Ashour on Tuesday 6/12/2022 witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement between the New Cairo Technological University (NCTU) and the Scottish University of Strathclyde.
In statements following the signing ceremony, the minister said the agreement aims to boost cooperation between the two universities in the production of advanced prostheses.
It also come in light of the State’s interest in establishing an integrated industrial complex to localize the production of prosthetics for people with special needs, which qualifies Egypt to become a regional hub for this industry, the minister added.
Ashour noted this agreement is meant to qualify cadres to be able to compete in the production of prosthetics, as well as unifying programs and curricula to match the specifications of the World Health Organization and International Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics (ISPO).
