Egypt’s Ambassador to Qatar Amr el Sherbiny commended the qualitative breakthrough of the Egyptian-Qatari relationships in all aspects.
The ambassador also stressed the strength of these relationships at their various axes, which were crowned by the visit of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to Doha on September 13-14, and also the visit of Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to Egypt on June 24-25.
The mutual visits of the leaders of both countries, in addition to the periodic mutual ministerial visits, affirm the keenness of Egypt and Qatar to deepen the mutual relations at all levels, pushing them forward in all political and economic fields, he added in exclusive statements to Qatar News Agency (QNA).
Also, the participation of President Sisi in the opening of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 in Doha formed a demonstration of the depth and strength of Egyptian-Qatari relations and the momentum and rising scale they are witnessing, added the ambassador.
He also pointed out that the cultural cooperation constitutes a significant component of soft power in the relations between the two countries.
The ambassador, meanwhile, stressed that Qatar’s National Day represents an opportunity to recall the strength of relations between Egypt and Qatar, and to praise the two brotherly countries’ role in strengthening the bonds of fraternity and bilateral cooperation as well as taking the relations between the two countries to broader horizons to suite the current phase, demands and aspirations of the two peoples.
The ambassador also valued the State of Qatar for choosing of “Our Unity Source of Our Strength” as a slogan for this year’s National Day celebrations, especially since it comes during a phase where Arab countries are rebuilding their relationships on firmer grounds of cooperation, offering a better life for all, securing stability for the region, and achieving the aspirations of its peoples in advancement, pride, and prosperity.
He also indicated that unity is the slogan and purpose Arab countries have sought for years, pointing out that unity represents the foundation of strength.
The Egyptian ambassador also extended congratulations to the Qatari emir, the Qatari government, and the people of Qatar that have historical fraternal bonds and ancient deep-rooted relations with the Egyptian people.
He further expressed his pride in the State of Qatar’s organization of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 which takes place for the first time in an Arab country, praising the immense efforts that Qatar carried out to host this tournament.
This global event will provide a qualitative contribution and a sustainable legacy for the Arab world to memorialize, introducing at the same time the tournaments fans to the authentic Arabic culture, he added.
