Houston: The Egyptian Consulate in Houston, in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, has successfully returned four rare Egyptian artifacts dating back to different periods of ancient Egyptian civilization. This initiative aligns with the Egyptian state's commitment to protecting its cultural heritage and preserving its cultural identity. It also reflects the strong relations between Egypt and the United States and their collaboration in promoting respect for human cultural heritage and its value.
According to State Information Service Egypt, among the most prominent recovered pieces is a granite statue head wearing the royal headdress, dating back to the 18th Dynasty of the New Kingdom. This successful recovery underscores the ongoing efforts by Egyptian authorities to safeguard their ancient treasures and ensure their rightful return to the homeland.
