Egypt Post issues souvenir stamps to mark 75th anniversary of Egypt-India relations

The Foreign Ministry announced on Thursday that Egypt Post issued a souvenir stamp to mark the 75th anniversary of launching the Egyptian-Indian diplomatic relations.

In a press statement, the Foreign Ministry said Egypt in this date has officially recognized India’s independence only three days after it has been announced in 1947.

The statement said the two countries have been closely linked with historic ties on all fronts thanks to the commercial relations that have connected the old civilizations of both countries.

In the 1950s of the 20th century, Egypt and India signed a friendship agreement in 1955, the statement added.

Over the past few years, bilateral relations have been beefed up as they exchanged meetings among high level officials of both countries and the growing economic and trade ties helped in deepening their bilateral relations in line with the two government’s efforts to maintain the interests of the two peoples and countries, according to the statement.
