Egypt and Italy Fortify Educational Ties with New Agreement

Cairo: Egypt and Italy have taken a significant step towards enhancing their educational collaboration with the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Egypt's Minister of Education and Technical Education Mohamed Abdel Latif and Italy's Minister of Education and Merit Dr. Giuseppe Valdettara. The agreement was formalized on the sidelines of the Mediterranean Technical and Vocational Education Forum.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the MoU sets the stage for the second phase of the 'Learn Italian in Egypt' project. This initiative focuses on training teachers from Egyptian applied technology schools and professionals involved in the technical and vocational education and training system through specialized programs that offer linguistic and methodological qualifications. The project aims to develop qualified personnel capable of serving as 'trainers of trainers' and aims to improve the overall quality of technical and vocational education.

The agreement also highlights the importance of institutional cooperation between Italian Higher Technological Education Academies (ITS Academies) and Egyptian Applied Technology Schools (ATS). This collaboration is seen as a strategic pillar for skill development, professional preparation, and enhancing educational mobility and training opportunities. The partnership seeks to leverage the advanced experiences of both countries for mutual benefit.
