Education ministry, Sawiris Foundation sign cooperation protocol

Education and Technical Education Minister Reda Hegazy witnessed the signing of an agreement between the Ministry of Education and Technical Education and Sawiris Foundation for Social Development.

As per the agreement, Onsi Sawiris school of applied technology and construction will be established in Ain Sokhna.

During the signing ceremony, Hegazy underlined the importance of investment in human capital, which is necessary, especially in light of the successive changes that the world is witnessing.

He further referred to the importance of enhancing the technical education and vocational training sector, saying that doing so contributes to building the Egyptian industry.

He also said that having a skilled workforce is considered a mainstay in luring both local and foreign investments.

Regarding the schools of applied technology, Hegazy indicated that these types of schools were able, within 5 years of their establishment, to be a beacon for the development of technical education, and by signing this protocol, the number of applied technology schools will be reaching 48. These schools are built in partnership with more than 40 industrial partners in the various industrial fields, according to him.
