Egypt was ranked second in Africa in the number of startup deals during 2022 with 144 deals registered in the country, a 3 percent increase compared with 2021 levels, the Cabinet’s Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC) said in an infographic.

Egypt’s startup deals in 2022 accounted for 21 percent of the total number of deals concluded in Africa that year, the infographic showed.

Nigeria came first on the continent in the same year with 189 deals, while Kenya was in the third place with 103 deals, according to the IDSC infographic.
