Arab media faces significant responsibilities amid technological progress: Mohammed Saeed Al Dhanhani

FUJAIRAH: Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, the Fujairah Media Forum will be held on April 25th and 26th under the theme ‘Parallel Media’.

The forum is organised by the Media Office of the Fujairah Government and the Fujairah Culture and Media Authority in collaboration with the Emirates News Agency (WAM) as an official media partner.

The Supreme Committee for the Forum held a press conference attended by Mohammed Saeed Al Dhanhani, Director of the Fujairah Emiri Diwan, Nasser Al Yamahi, Executive Director of the Fujairah Culture and Media Authority, and Jamal Adam, Director of the Fujairah Government Media Office, along with a large number of journalists and forum organisers, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel.

Mohammed Saeed Al Dhanhani spoke at the beginning of the conference about the development that has touched every aspect of media in the emirate, under the directives and support of H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi,
Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, and the support of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah.

Al Dhanhani highlighted the rise of “parallel media” using audiovisual tech and emphasised the need for official media to update methods. Modern technologies should be used to benefit society and promote development.

He emphasised the importance of open dialogue sessions and workshops at the conference with journalists, influencers, and content creators. The discussions will focus on future media development and the need to adapt to advancements while maintaining media’s ethical and national mission.

The forum brings together several Arab ministers of information, along with various speakers in seven dialogue sessions and different workshops, in addition to editors-in-chief of news agencies and guests from different parts of the Arab world. The forum includes a media museum showcasing various tools used by traditional media over decades, alongside a smart glass r
oom simulating future media. Arabs face significant responsibilities amid the evolution of publishing and technology.

The Emirates News Agency (WAM) and the Media Office of the Fujairah Government signed a memorandum of media cooperation to coordinate and prepare for the Fujairah Media Forum on the sidelines of last November’s second edition of the Global Media Congress (GMC).

The memorandum stipulates that WAM will provide the necessary media support for the forum’s events by disseminating and broadcasting its media materials through its website and social media accounts, in addition to assigning a team of editors and photographers to cover the event’s activities.
