Grand Imam of Al Azhar Dr Ahmed el Tayyeb met on Sunday 16/10/2022 with chairman of the Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC) Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi to discuss means of boosting bilateral cooperation.
Ashrafi conveyed best regards of Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to the grand imam, wishing him good health and well-being.
He also invited Tayyeb to visit Pakistan and get firsthand information about activities of Muslim institutions there, as well as probe cooperation between Pakistani universities and the University of Al Azhar.
Tayyeb greatly appreciated the invitation to visit Pakistan, where he had spent one full year and got to know many of its scholars and professors.
