Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa said that 16 mosques were opened on Friday bringing the total number of mosques inaugurated during president Abdel Faffah El Sisi’s era to 9,600.

Gomaa made the remarks as he was received by Marsa Matrouh governor Khaled Shoeib along with lawmakers and some preachers.

Shoeib thanked Gomaa over his greetings to the residents and tribes of Matrouh over 107th anniversary for the victory of Matrouh people in the Battle of Wadi Majid in 1915.
