Anaqua to Acquire Practice Insight to Round Out its Law Firm IP Management Solutions

Egypt offers condolences to Afghanistan over earthquake victims

Egypt offered its sincere condolences to Afghanistan over the victims of the devastating earthquake that left hundreds of people dead and injured.

In a statement on Wednesday 22/6/2022, the Foreign Ministry extended its condolences to the Afghani government and people and the bereaved families of the victims, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.

The ministry also expressed Egypt’s solidarity with Afghanistan in this ordeal, the statement added.

At least 280 people were killed and 600 others injured after a magnitude 5.9 earthquake hit eastern Afghanistan on Wednesday, according to the country’s disaster management authority.

El-Wazir , French amb. stress depth of Egyptian-French ties

Minister of Transport Kamel el-Wazir stressed depth of ties binding Egypt and France highlighting joint cooperation in a number of ongoing ventures in the railway, underground and maritime transport fields.

In a meeting Wednesday with French ambassador in Cairo Marc Baréty to probe ways of boosting bilateral cooperation in the various transport domains, the minister said Egypt is looking forward to further promote Egyptian-French cooperation in the transport sector.

For his part, the French ambassador voiced appreciation of Egyptian-French cooperation reflecting strong friendship ties between the two countries’ political leadership.

He underlined the French companies’ keenness on cooperating with their Egyptian peers in the various transport sectors.

They also reviewed latest progress related to a contract signed between the Egyptian and the French governments on importing railway carriages and equipment to Egypt, together with prospects of cooperation in the investment and training domains covering the transport sector.

PM: Conformity of Egyptian-Saudi views on various political, economic issues

Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli stressed the conformity of Egyptian-Saudi views vis-a-vis various political and economic issues of mutual concern.

He made the remarks on Wednesday during a cabinet meeting in the New Administrative Capital.

The meeting touched on an official visit of Saudi Crown Prime Mohamed ben Salman to Egypt.

The visit falls within the framework of historical ties between the two countries.

The premier said the government has directives to prepare a package of investment incentives for cooperation with Saudi investors.

He noted that Saudi Arab intends to inject dlrs 30 billion investments into Egypt in the coming period.

The premier hailed the inking of 14 agreements on Tuesday with the Saudi side at dlrs 7.7 billion dollars.

He commended the statements made by Saudi Investment Minister Khaled Faleh who lauded the economic development in Egypt under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.

Prime Minister said the trilateral summit between Egypt, Bahrain and Jordan that was held recently in Sharm El Sheikh addressed cooperation and coordination between the countries regarding issues of mutual concern as well as the latest regional and international developments.

Cabinet holds its weekly meeting in NAC

The Cabinet started its weekly meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli on Wednesday22/6/2022 at the New Administrative Capital (NAC) to probe a number of political, economic and social files and the latest global developments, as well as repercussions of the Russia-Ukrainian crisis and the spread of Covid-19, in addition to the provision of vaccines.

The meeting discusses several topics and important ministerial decisions and bills that aim to achieve development and welfare in the country on all fronts, along with realizing economic and social stability and encourage investments.

The ministers review the completion of work in different national projects in the country, topped by presidential initiative “Decent Life” to upgrade villages and the Egyptian Countryside.

The meeting will also probe measures taken to ensure the provision of essential foodstuffs for citizens and control local markets, as per President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s directives.

It also follows up on the wheat harvest season and the file of encroachments on agricultural lands and the social solidarity umbrella. Moreover, it tackles the upgrade files in the various state sectors including health, sports, education and transport and measures to support low income brackets and the provision of citizens’ needs in general.

Sports min. opens 1st sports festival for embassies

Sports and Youth Minister Ashraf Sobhi on Wednesday inaugurated via the videoconference the first sports festival for embassies.

The festival is organized by the ministry in cooperation with the sports union for civil servants.

As many as 18 African, Arab and European embassies are participating in the 10-day festival.

The embassies represent the states of Brazil, UAE, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Libya, Uzbekistan, Algeria, Indonesia, Sudan, Bulgaria, Djibouti, Britain, Tajikistan, Palestine, Serbia, Czech, Somalia and North Korea.
