WHO Praises Egypt’s Success in Disease Eradication

Cairo: Spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population Hossam Abdel Ghaffar announced that the World Health Organization (WHO) has praised Egypt's progress in eradicating diseases in 2024.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Egypt was declared free of measles and rubella in March 2024 and later eliminated malaria by October of the same year.

In a telephone interview on the Extra News channel, Abdel Ghaffar highlighted that Egypt is the first country in the Eastern Mediterranean Region to eliminate hepatitis. He emphasized that Egypt's healthcare achievements over the past five years reflect a strong national commitment to public health.
