Mit habish: Minister of Transport, Kamel El-Wazir, visited the Mit Habish Maintenance Center, a Technical Center for Maintenance and Repair under the Holding Company for Maritime and Land Transport, to monitor the ongoing development efforts. The center is focused on achieving high operational efficiency, cost reduction, and enhancements to the transport services system.
According to State Information Service Egypt, this visit is part of the Ministry of Transport's broader strategy to refine the maintenance and repair system for transport fleets across multiple companies. The initiative underscores the importance of leveraging local technical capabilities to minimize reliance on external maintenance and lower operational expenses.
The Minister assessed the Holding Company for Maritime and Land Transport's strategy to optimize resource utilization and collaborate with bus manufacturers to set up additional maintenance centers in the complex. These centers will employ the existing technical workforce at the facility.
The initiative is designed to foster the exchange of technical expertise and bolster operational proficiency. The Holding Company plans to broaden its maintenance and repair services to third-party entities through this center, including land transport companies, tourism operators, and governmental bodies. This expansion aims to enhance the economic return on assets and establish the center as a specialized hub for comprehensive maintenance services.
