Cairo: The Egyptian Tourism Promotion Board, affiliated with the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, has introduced a new promotional campaign titled 'Ramadan in Egypt is a Story.' This initiative aims to promote Egypt as a tourist destination during the holy month of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr, specifically targeting the Arab market.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the CEO of the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Board, Ahmed Youssef, stated that the campaign showcases Egypt's unique Ramadan atmosphere. It highlights the spiritual ambiance of historic mosques during the day and the festive atmosphere in the streets, Ramadan tents, and cultural events at night.
Youssef emphasized that the Arab market is a crucial target as Egypt is often a preferred destination for spending Eid al-Fitr holidays. The campaign also seeks to attract foreign tourists looking for authentic cultural and historical experiences.
Susan Mostafa, head of the Central Administration for Tourism Marketing at the Board, mentioned that the campaign is being executed through specialized digital search and booking platforms like Expedia, Wego, and Tripadvisor. The goal is to enhance Egypt's presence throughout various stages of the search and booking journey and increase online engagement and bookings.
The campaign also utilizes extensive outreach via social media platforms operated by Meta, Google, and TikTok. Additionally, it collaborates with influencers and travel content creators and launches targeted advertising campaigns through major Arab media outlets and television channels, ensuring broad reach in the targeted markets and boosting tourism flows during the Ramadan season.
